Houston Astros Betting Information

(July 1, 2023) - Following a sluggish start to the season, the Houston Astros are almost back to their stellar selves, winning 60% of their more recent games.  They currently pay out $1000 to win the World Series.

Hunter Brown vs. the Rangers (July 1, 2023)

Hunter Brown is 6-4 with a 3.52 ERA.  He was terrific his last start against the Dodgers on Sunday night but failed to factor into the decision.  Brown allowed just one run on three hits over six frames. He was coming off a terrible start in which he allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings by the Mets.

He does not have a win in his last two starts so we anticipate he will be bringing his A-Game against a good Rangers team that Houston has the edge over of late.  In fact, the Astros are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Texas.

Nathan Eovaldi, however, does not have a win in his last three starts.

He yielded two runs in 5 2/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision versus the Yankees and yielded four runs in six innings prior to that in a no-decision versus the White Sox.

Eovaldi is more than capable of going deep.

But the Astros career statistics vs. Eovaldi are 29 for 95 (.305) with Jose Altuve hitting 3 homers off of him (9 for 33 at bats) and Alex Bregman is 8 for 16.
