We're excited to start off the 2023-24 NBA season handicapping on the G911 Sports Hub 3-0 but the pressure is on.  Let's review today's games to see if there is anything that catches our eye while reviewing some of the top NBA cappers picks.  Keep in mind that the Heat-Hawks game features an injury to Miami's top scorer Tyler Herro.  We do look at how that's affected the number in this game and what he's worth on the spread.

Top NBA Cappers and Who They Are Backing

Mario Deluca - He won with his play on Sacramento with the moneyline.  The Kings proved lucrative for a few of the early winning cappers in the NBA.  Gambling911.com also had the Kings.  Deluca 18-10 over the last 30 days. He did not have any plays in the NBA early on.

Kyle Parker - Also on the Kings Friday, but as a +3 dog as they beat road favorites Oklahoma Thunder at home.  Parker is 6-0 over the last 14 days with his NBA plays.

Ben Burns - He does not have a loss in six picks this season including last night's play on Sacramento.

Al Grant - 8-2 with his NBA plays over the last 14 days.  He backed San Antonio Friday night and failed to cover by just a half a point.

None of the top cappers were offering NBA plays as of Saturday morning, however, Sonny LaFouchi has won his last three NBA picks over this past week and is liking the Bucks Saturday as a -4 favorite hosting Orlando.

A Look at Today's Games

These are close calls as Orlando and Boston provide tempting options but just not enough of a temptation to pull the trigger as they fall just short of our predictive model signals.  Dallas last night also fell just short but proved they would have been a top pick following a big win over the LA Clippers.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Orlando Magic - The line was -3.5 to -4 favoring the Bucks across the board. We get a number of Bucks 1.24.  That's a 2 to 2.5 overlay detected.

Toronto Raptors @ Boston Celtics - The Celtics were a -8 favorite with a few books shifting to -7.5 during the morning hours.  We get a number of 10.27, indicating an underlay of 2.5 to 3.  Boston is 6-1 over the last seven meetings but only 1-4 Against The Spread using the current 8 point line over their last five head-to-heads.

Miami Heat @ Atlanta Hawks - The line opened Atlanta -4.5 and quickly jumped to -7.5.  Tyler Herro sustained a Grade 2 ankle sprain for Miami.  He is the Heat's leading scorer.  The oddsmakers have compensated for his absence by boosting the number by three points for Atlanta.  And the Hawks action was greater than 80% on the spread early.  Assuming the Heat were healthy, the opening number was on the money as we get a number of 4.43.

Cleveland Cavs @ Golden State Warriors - Your number here is Golden State -4 though a few books opened or were flirting with the 3.5.  Our number is 5.46, which suggests a 2 point underlay.
