Will iPoker Be the Next to Shut Down?

In the wake of the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) announcing its upcoming shutdown in the next few months, rumors have begun swirling that iPoker could soon be next.

PokerTube.com claims to have a stellar record of predicting closures.

That can't bode well for iPoker:

Playtech, the owners of iPoker, don’t exactly have a stellar history when it comes to their poker dealings. A €50million acquisition of one-time super-affiliate PokerStrategy didn’t pan out so well, a huge decrease in popularity seeing it quickly cast aside.

That followed a brutal and messy splitting of its skins into two tiers, favouring its own operators, and leaving some beleaguered sites seriously struggling, many later selling out to bigger skins, closing down or migrating to different networks.

MPN began with rumors.  Gambling911.com had heard these rumors but were unable to verify before that company confirmed the news just hours later.
