Oddsmakers Now Have Sean McCann Winning Kalamazoo Michigan House District 04

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Gambling911.com) - In the Michigan-04 house race: Sean McCann (D) is now the favorite at -150.  Bill Huizenga (R) was favored at -130 last week and is now +120, promising a payout of $120 for every $100 bet should he ultimately win.  This race is still very much considered a toss up, at least in the oddsmakers eyes.

BetOnline revealed the significant shift in the odds Thursday, just days ahead of the Midterms election.

Non-partisan race rater Cook Political Report just shifted their prediction for Michigan’s 4th Congressional District to “Toss Up” on October 9.

Polls continue to show the two candidates effectively tied. President Donald Trump won this seat by 5.5 points in 2024.

The 4th district covers the majority of the city of Kalamazoo and its immediate surrounding metro area (including Portage).

While it only contains a portion of Kalamazoo County as a whole, the lines drawn by the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission specifically carved out the heavily populated urban and suburban core of the Kalamazoo-Portage area to anchor the eastern side of the district. The more rural, eastern parts of Kalamazoo County fall into the neighboring 5th district.
