Wichita's Kansas Star Casino Sees Revenue Growth Increase of 8 Percent in May, Slots Take in $13.7 Million

Kansas casinos generated $39.8 million in revenue for May, up 5.5% year-over-year with slots accounting for most of the combined figure with the Kansas Star Casino accounting for $16.3 million of that number, the most of the four state casinos.

The Kansas Star Casino revenue for the month was up 8% with slots seeing an increase of 6.6% to $13.7 million and generating the most revenue there.  Table games rose 15.5% to $2.6 million.

The Kansas Star Casino is a casino and hotel in western Mulvane, Kansas, located a mere 20 minutes from Wichita.  It is owned and managed by Boyd Gaming.  Located on the West side of I-35, the resort also features the Kansas Star Arena, a multipurpose entertainment venue that hosts concerts, pageants, and various athletic and equestrian events.

A number of reviews for The Kansas Star Casino claim "tight machines".

Bryan, a local guide, writes:

"Tightest machines ive ever played on. I played video poker for an hour and not so much as a three of a kind, and the slots were even worse and its been that was the past 3 times ive come here. And the same for others I've talked to. Never playing here again."

Bill Winans agrees, and he loves the casino:

"Very clean, beautiful place. The rooms are premium suites!! Excellent. The machines were about as tight as I have ever encountered. I think there were 4 floor cashiers for the entire place, and word has it they had 2 too many."

And this from Kareem Jamar:

"Pretty decent casino machines are tight as hell."

The last big jackpot win reported here was $306,000 on a $5 bet last August when a Harper resident hit a royal flush on Light & Wonder’s Mississippi Stud poker game.

Elsewhere,  Hollywood Casino recorded the second-highest revenue for the month,$15.5 million. Slots were up 3.3% to $14 million, and table games increased 6.6% to $1.5 million.

Boot Hill Casino was up 6.6% to $4.2 million, with slots rising 7.3% to $3.7 million, while table games took in roughly the same amount as the last reporting period, $442,562.

Kansas Crossing Casino saw a revenue increase of 2.3% to $3.8 million. Slots totaled $3.6 million, up 7.2%, while table games generated $154,290, down 50.8%.
