It's being called "Kate Gate" and the entire world is talking.  What exactly is going on with Kate Middleton, Catherine, Princess of Wales?

The British bookmakers haven't offered odds just yet as her recent surgery remains shrouded in mystery.  Our friends at BetOnline, based out of North America and known for offering odds on all things current affairs, aren't doing Kate yet either.  If you want to bet on the UK to Hold Referendum on Monarchy, you're in luck.  The payout is 6600 on a 100 bet.

The frenzy over Kate came about over the weekend after the first "official" photo of the princess was released since her January 16 procedure.

She is seen seated in a chair, surrounded by her three smiling children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. The caption wished her fellow U.K. moms a happy Mother’s Day and thanked the public for their well-wishes following her recent abdominal surgery.

But within hours, social media began questioning when the photo was taken, while others noticed some telltale signs that the photo had been altered, most notably, Kate was missing half a sleeve.

The following day, Kate addressed the photo controversy via X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” and adding, in part, “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion.”

To be clear, no book is going to take bets on any doom or gloom involving Princess Catherine.  It is surprising none have offered odds on the before or after specific date of her live return to the public.

The books certainly aren't shy about offering odds on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle being stripped of their titles this year.  That's a huge favorite NOT to happen.
