06/03/2003 - 12:00 PM ET Gamblers Avenue has announced the take over of OddsNEnds Sportsbook's Post Up business out of San Jose, Costa Rica. CEO of Gamblers Avenue, Mike Silver, has reassured all OddsNEnds post up players that their money is safe and the transition should run smoothly. "Gamblers Avenue is a growing property," commented Silver. "We've acquired this sportsbook and plan on looking into other ventures in the not so distant future." GA will not be assuming any of OddsNEnd's credit business, which is expected to remain intact and overseen by another entity. Since its start last summer, Gamblers Avenue ranks as one of the fastest and most profitable wagering business offshore today. Owned partially by a Manchester, England investor, the sportsbetting operation has already assisted dozens of players stiffed by sportsbooks the likes of Parlaycard.com and Wagers Paradise. "We're a small book with a huge heart," stated Silver. "Already our name is getting out there and we want punters to know they can trust us with their hard earned money. Gamblers Avenue is quietly winning over the public's confidence in offshore betting once again." The industry has been scarred by a number of closures in recent months and the latest Diamond Sports employee "purging" hasn't exactly made things easier. Gamblers Avenue meanwhile maintains a polished image (Mike Silver can pass for Mickey Mouse, his company is so squeaky clean). The sportsbook offers 20% signup bonuses, 10% reups on new money deposited and a wide assortment of methods in which to send and receive money, including NETeller and Western Union. The book may consider offering free sports tickers very shortly as well. GA offers one of the best websites for those handicapping thoroughbred horses and for anyone wanting to make the best of their thoroughbred handicapping free picks, through coverage of most major U.S. tracks with real track odds. They also feature a fun online casino complete with the best online slot payout (or so they say). Up until now the spokesperson and customer service rep for OddsNEnds has been a likeable Costa Rican named Fred Ortega. Will Fred be put out to pasture with all those Diamond Sports International employees we wondered? "Nope, Fred will now work for Gamblers Avenue full time," Silver assured us. "I am pleased to have him as part of the GA family." And let us add we are proud to have Gamblers Avenue as part of the 911 family of great sportsbooks.
