Lionel Messi Goalscorer Payout Odds - Argentina vs. Egypt - World Cup 2026

Argentina's Lionel Messi is, of course, the favorite to score the first goal in Tuesday's match between Argentina and Egypt. He pays out US$210 for every US$100 bet to score the first goal and is priced pretty decently at -145 to score an anytime goal

Messi has mostly been unstoppable, scoring 7 goals through Argentina's first four matches, putting him tied for the Golden Boot lead entering the Round of 16 against Egypt.

He has scored in seven consecutive World Cup matches, an extraordinary streak dating back to the 2022 tournament.

But it hasn't necessarily been easy this tournament.

Argentina was nearly knocked out of the tournament by massive underdogs Cape Verde last week.

Speaking to reporters after Argentina needed extra time to beat Cape Verde 3-2, Messi said, "Today, we put in a huge effort, as always, playing well and playing badly, just like we always say. But I think the important thing now is to rest, think about what's coming next and try to take positives from today's game. Beyond just qualifying, I think there are positives because we did some good things, and we also need to correct the bad ones, which I think were many today as well."
