Massive Ratings Winner

(April 3, 2023) - The gritty battle for the women's college basketball championship on Sunday between Louisiana State and Iowa drew an average of 9.9 million viewers, making it the most viewed N.C.A.A. women's basketball final in television history, ESPN said April 3.

This was the first year the title game was broadcasted on ABC.

The game featured LSU's Angel Reese’s taunting of Iowa's Caitlin Clark as the game closed.  The incident began trending on Twitter almost immediately.

Tigers Win NCAA Women's Championship

(April 2, 2023) - The LSU Tigers have won the 2023 NCAA Women's Championship, beating the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85.  Oh and there was controversy.

Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers used a record offensive performance to beat Caitlin Clark and Iowa 102-85 in the national championship game on Sunday to win the first basketball title in school history.

When you see "No Class" trending on Twitter and Angel Reese's name appearing under it, time to pull up the video.

This was an easy cover for LSU.

The win caps off a record season for women's basketball with viewership way up over last year.

The betting action was confirmed to be massive.

LSU head coach Kim Mulkey becomes the first women’s coach to win national championships at two different schools. She won three at Baylor before leaving for LSU two years ago.

“Coaches coach a lifetime and this is the fourth time I’ve been blessed,” Mulkey said. “Never in the history of LSU basketball, men or women, has (anybody) ever played for a championship.”

LSU Tigers Football Early Hot Trends

(April 2, 2023) - LSU will likely be a favorite in all of their home games this season.

Since 2018, the Tigers have gone 19-2 as a home favorite (90.5%) and 18-3 in nonconference games (85.7%).

At first glance, the closest thing we can see to being a single-digit dog versus LSU - which results in a reduced moneyline - would be Arkansas.  They visit LSU in Week 4.  Do keep an eye on Texas A&M at the end of the season.  Using last year's season-ending power ratings, we get a line of Tigers -12.  A -6 line typically translates into a moneyline price just over -200.
