Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner said Monday he is taking time to reflect on the future of his campaign following a sexual assault allegation leveled against him.
Minutes after the story went live, Platner took to X to refute the claims, though he noted his team would be "taking the time to reflect on the best path forward."
Platner is vying to unseat incumbent Sen. Susan Collins in a highly contested matchup. He was favored to do so before this news, but now the odds have shifted back to Collins.
Basically, the winning party projection for the Maine Senate race has completely flipped from Dems to the GOP. And the Republicans have lengthened their position as the favorite for Senate control.
