Man in Louisiana Bets $100K on the Moneyline for Ducks to Beat Oregon State: They Lose

NEW ORLEANS, La (Gambling911.com) - A Louisiana gambler bet $100,000 at Caesars Sportsbook for the Oregon Ducks to win outright against Oklahoma State on the moneyline.

Easy peasy, right?

Guess again.

Despite the Ducks coming into this game as a much as -24.5 at some books, they still somehow managed to lose 39-31.

The moneyline listed at -2400 at most books.

Oregon, keep in mind, was one of the early favorites to win the College Playoff Championship.

Even crazier still, Oklahoma State went just 1-11 last season and lost 24-10 to Tulsa in its season opener.

Drew Mestemaker threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 109 yards and a score, and Oklahoma State ended a 21-game skid against FBS opponents by pulling off the first true stunner of the 2026 season, beating No. 6 Oregon 39-31 on Saturday.

"We challenged [our players] this week in a really tough way and tough manner and we had some meetings that weren't very pleasant in here," Coach Eric Morris said. "And they had to listen to how bad they were after hearing how good they were for such a long time. To see them practice this last week, the intensity, the focus, the effort they had ... for them to have that moment, for me as a coach, that's what's rewarding for me."

The moneyline price was so high the individual stood to walk away with just $4000.   Now he's out $100,000.
