Wednesday Game 2

Early action had Philadelphia seeing better than $60,000 compared to just $5,000 for the Marlins on the moneyline.  With this kind of lopsided betting, despite not a whole lot of volume early on, the books to move the line up after opening Phillies -155.  We weren't seeing a whole lot of movement with this number early on, however, at any of the books.

The total was sitting at 8 after opening at 7.5 some books (Bookmaker for one).

Braxton Garrett starts for Miami.  He's been beaten up pretty badly by these Phillies, allowing 24 hits in 68 at bats, 13 RBIs and four homers (.353).

Marlins career statistics vs. Aaron Nola have not been great.  They've had 37 hits in 158 at bats against him plus 7 homers and 20 RBIs (.234).

Philadelphia was catching our eye a bit as of Wednesday morning.

Tuesday Game 1

Jesus Luzardo has been sensational against the Phillies, allowing just 16 hits in 76 appearances.  They've had three home runs and four RBIs versus Luzardo.

He pitched five scoreless frames until the 6th when Luzardo was charged with three runs without getting an out in the sixth against the Brewers in his most recent start.

Marlins career statistics vs. Zack Wheeler are 36 for 144 at bats. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has one of the four home runs against him.  Josh Bell as the other three.

The line on Philadelphia had moved down from -170 to -158 at Bovada, -165 to -150 at Bookmaker and -165 to -152 at Circa.

The total was hanging steady at 7.5 overnight.

MLB Wildcard Series vs. Philadelphia Phillies

These two teams have split wins over the last ten meetings.

Braxton Garrett struggled against Philadelphia facing them 68 times and giving up 24 at bats including 13 RBIs (.353).  He is slated to start for the Marlins on Wednesday.
