GOP Sees Michigan Senate Flip on Latest Fox News Map But Odds Favor Democrats

OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - Republicans received some welcome good news Sunday as a Fox News poll and map reflect that the state of Michigan could provide a rare Senate seat flip for the November general election.

BetOnline does have Abdul El-Sayed (D) favored at -160 to beat Mike Rogers (R), who pays out $130 for every $100 bet

The latest Fox News polll tells a different story.

Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed will go against Republican Mike Rogers for the open Senate seat following Democrat Gary Peters' decision to retire. Democrats have held the seat for decades.

While the progressive El-Sayed made headlines with his win against Representative Haley Stevens this the primary this month, Fox News polling shows Rogers flipping the seat.

The poll of 1,006 registered Michigan voters found Rogers ahead at 51 percent to El-Sayed’s 47 percent, with 2 percent undecided. The poll, which was conducted August 6-10 had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

The Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball rate the race as a toss-up.

That, though, is the only good news for the GOP.

The Democrats flip six seats, according to the latest Fox News poll.  Those seats include the highly coveted Texas Senate seat.

Texas has not elected a Democrat to statewide office since 1994, making it one of the nation's longest-running Republican strongholds.

A Fox News poll of 1,006 registered Texas voters found that 51 percent back Democratic candidate James Talarico and 48 percent Republican candidate Ken Paxton, with 1 percent undecided. The survey was conducted July 23-27 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

However, polls appear to flip-flop on who is leading, as a recent Emerson College Polling/Nexstar Media poll of 1,000 likely Texas voters puts the Senate race in a near dead heat, with 47 percent backing Paxton and 46 supporting Talarico.

Paxton comes in priced at -105 and Talarico -125 at BetOnline
