The month of August hasn’t been kind to New York baseball as the Mets (1-8) and Yankees (2-7) have a combined record of 3-15.

This swoon hasn’t been lost on the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag as they have updated their payout odds for the next manager fired.

Aaron Boone has moved up to third while Carlos Mendoza has entered the fray.

Brian Snitker of the Braves is favored by double that of the next shortest odds (Torey Lovullo of the Diamondbacks), promising a payout of $150 for every $100 bet.

Snitker could have bought himself some more time with a solid performance against the Marlins in recent days.  They won four of five in that series.

“[The Marlins] had been playing really [well] coming in here,” Snitker said. “It was a lot like the [Brewers] that just left before them. They were kind of worrisome when they come in. We started swinging the bats.”

Lovullo, likewise, has seen his team go on a decent enough run, winning six of their last ten.
