Here's Every State's World Series Prediction
Baseball Twitter has spoken.
It thinks the New York Yankees will upset the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2024 World Series.
BetOnline.ag conducted a survey of Twitter/X by using geo-tagged tweet data to track official fan hashtags in every state.
For example, #RepBX, #GoYankees, #DodgersNation, #GoDodgers, etc. were used in the study.
Since Sunday night when the Fall Classic matchup was set, more than 160,000 tweets were tracked in total.
The sportsbook put together a nifty little infomap that displays the findings, which you can use in your content below.
As you can see from the map below, the Yankees have a slight edge in rooting interest across the nation. This is an interesting matchup as both teams are consistently named as two of the "most hated" so some MLB fans are having to make a tough decision.
Other interesting notes to cull from the data are that the New England area (Red Sox fans) are certainly not rooting for the Yankees, and the Dodgers are getting some love from the Midwest (likely from Royals and Guardians fans wanting to see their playoff loss avenged).
The state-by-state breakdown is as follows:
Yankees - 29 states (Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin)
Dodgers - 21 states (Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas
Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wyoming)
