Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes has been made the 2026 National League Cy Young favorite with a payout potential of $300 on every $100 bet.
Scenes started in 32 games and finished 10-10. That's pretty impressive considering his team only went 71-91, finishing 26 games behind the division leader. His Earned Run Average (ERA) came in at 1.97 (led MLB).
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington has publicly said Skenes will be a Pirate in 2026 and that the team is not trading him this offseason. The club plans to build a roster around Skenes.
Skenes has made it abundantly clear he plans to stick around.
“I’m on the Pirates. My goal is to win with the Pirates. I love the city of Pittsburgh. The fans are hungry to have a winner in Pittsburgh, and I want to be a part of the group that did that,” he said in November 2025 when pushing back on trade talk."
