Odds on Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford
Boxing has its first superbout in a long, long time.
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is fighting Terence “Bud” Crawford on September 13th in Las Vegas.
There must be a Brinks Truck worth of money in it for Bud to take this fight as the significantly lighter man.
He’s a natural welterweight at 147 and didn’t display much power in his one fight at 154 lbs.
Canelo is a natural super middleweight at 168 lbs. and has fought as high as 175 at light heavyweight.
Jumping up basically three weight classes for a 38-year old Crawford is no joke.
The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag opened this fight with Canelo at -150 (2/3) and Bud at +120 (6/5).
The fight line has already moved in Canelo’s favor, I’m sure due to the size difference.
Here’s the direct link to real-time odds.
Saul “Canelo’ Alvarez vs Terrence “Bud” Crawford
Saul Alvarez -185
Terence Crawford +155
This fight is expected to shatter all PPV sales records and is a massive addition to the already packed NFL and college football betting slate that month, assuming this bout goes off as planned.
ESPN Deportes' Julius Julianis suggested a deal is already in place. Other sources have suggested it can happen as early as May, though such plans sound extremely ambitious.
The oddsmakers weren't going to wait around to find out though.
