NBA Betting Previews February 4
Nine games on tap today beginning just after 3 pm ET. Some of these are expected to be lopsided affairs.
Who's Hot, Who's Not
Sacramento Kings (Monday) - This one surprised us for sure coming off a game the night before in Indiana and having the ability to beat the Bulls at home. We would normally anticipate the Kings to play flat in Cleveland on Monday.
Cleveland Cavs (Monday) - The Cavs are 9-1 in their last ten games and face a Kings team concluding a 7-game road trip. The number should be -4.5 under normal circumstances.
LA Clippers @ Atlanta Hawks (Monday) - Clippers will be on the 2nd night of play after facing off against the Heat to conclude a 7-game road swing. We'd still anticipate LA to be favored here as we get a number of Clippers 5.1 when not factoring in the road trip and back-to-back scenario. The Hawks have won three of the last four games at home in this series and have now won four straight and six of their last ten games.
Orlando Magic @ Detroit Pistons - We get a number of Magic 6.49 but the Pistons have won the last four games at home. The actual line has move from -7.5 to 7 so it is easy to see Detroit being able to just barely cover here. Detroit is 9-1 Against The Spread over their last ten games.
Rockets @ Timberwolves - Our number is 7.06 so the -7 at home is on the money for Minnesota, keeping in mind this team has been dominant against the Rockets in their last three played there.
The T'Wolves are coming off a hard luck 2-point loss against Orlando at home and will likely want to come into this one swinging. They have won six of their last ten games. The Timberwolves have only lost five at home this season while Houston's only won five on the road.
Head to Head Advantages
Kings @ Cavs (Monday) - The Kings conclude a grueling seven game road trip in Cleveland against a Cavs team that is 9-1 over their last ten games. Sacramento is 5-1 on this road trip thus far. Assuming all things normal here (and not counting the Kings current exhaustive road trip), we should have a line of Cavs -4.5. Sacramento, however, is 8-2 in the last ten games vs. Cleveland. And the Kings have beaten Cleveland Handily in most of those eight wins, only one of which was in Cleveland. Based on the head-to-head history alone we'd be on Sacramento, however, these teams do only meet twice a year so the recent trends are more scary than they might otherwise be.
Rockets @ T-Wolves - The Timberwolves have beaten Houston by more than the current spread in their last three meetings in Minnesota. They are 8-1 against Houston.
Clippers @ Heat - The Clippers may be dominating in this series but Miami have won the last two at home.
