Heat @ Hornets - Jimmy Butler is back Tuesday night to join the Heat.  Even without Butler and Tyler Herro, who will not be playing, Miami has put together a string of five straight victories.  Tonight they come in as a -5 road favorite in Charlotte.  This line has dropped to -3.5 after opening at -5 but bounced back by Tuesday afternoon.  Better than 85% of the early action was on Miami at the -5 point line.  That opening number was on the money but the 5 is around a 1.5 overlay.

Pacers @ 76ers - The number has mostly trended Philadelphia -5.5 to -5. We get a number of 76ers 8.16, which leans towards a 3 point underlay.  Philadelphia just beat Indiana by 11 points the other night as a -7 point favorite.

The 76ers have won the last seven in this series though three were within the current spread.

Philadelphia is 8-1 both Straight Up and Against The Spread.

Hawks @ Pistons - Atlanta's line was down to -4 from -4.5.  We've seen the number hit 3.5 and bounce back up again.  Our number is Atlanta 3.2.

Spurs @ Thunder - The number has gone from OKC -9 to -10.5.  Our number is on the money at 10.62.

Magic @ Nets - Brooklyn -3 is our number.  It was up from -2.5.  Our number is 2.44.

Mavericks @ Pelicans - The line movement was nominal as this one sat at Dallas -3.5.  Our number is 1.5, suggesting a two-point overlay.  Dallas is 7-3 in the series.  They are 3-1 in the last four in New Orleans, all of those wins by more than the current spread.

Trailblazers @ Jazz - The line opened at Jazz -8 some books and has fallen to -6.5.  We get a number of 3.5, indicating a 3 point overlay or greater.  Portland has won the last three games in this series, including the last two in Utah.  The Trailblazers are also coming off of three straight losses following three straight wins.  The last two losses for Portland were within the current 6.5 point spread.  80% of the early action was on Utah.  We are liking Portland here at +6.5.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
