The new Barstool Sportsbook website was back up by Wednesday evening, hours ahead of the scheduled downtime conclusion.

Barstool Sportsbook promises an enhanced experience for customers, many of whom were loyal readers of the popular Barstool Sports website.

The sportsbook is now owned completely by Penn National.  It will now be using a proprietary software after ditching its previous provider, Kambi.

A message appeared on the newly launched site:

"The Barstool Sportsbook app has been upgraded to deliver you an even better betting experience. We have expanded markets with more betting options, created a more user friendly app and navigation, better cashout availability and a new wallet & cashier experience."

Newly launched promos include:

$1,000 Deposit Match New Player Offer

and,

Bet $5, Get $50 New Player Offer, which is billed as an Omnichannel Signup Bonus - Bet & Get $50.

Some customers were critical of Barstool Sportsbook for shutting down during the MLB Home Run Derby and All Star Game.

Others seemed unaware of the platform change and what it entailed.

Marie tweeted after someone suggested a complete reset:

"That would be incredible! I’ll hold my breath but maybe they are taking notes from Caesars (…I’m having trouble logging in currently after the update but we will see how this update goes). Very excited to see how their “in-house” odds compare to the market."

The trouble logging in is that users will now be required to enter their email account and not their previous account name.

Barstool Sports reps appeared to be responsive during the downtime.
