(May 15, 2023) - The Yankees are 11-4 in the last 15 meetings in Toronto.  They opened this week's series as a +140 road dog. New York owns a rather disappointing 23-19 record but are winning 60% of their games of late.

More Hot and Cold Trends

  • Yankees are 5-1 in their last 6 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.
  • Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
  • Yankees are 2-9 in their last 11 during game 1 of a series.
  • Blue Jays are 8-1 in their last 9 home games.

Consensus Picks on Yankees

(May 2, 2023) - Today we are looking at the New York Yankees with four top cappers backing New York at -170 versus the Guardians.  Cleveland is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings and 25-51 in the last 76 meetings in New York.  The Yankees have lost four straight so sure they are due we suppose.  You won't see us betting the Yankees just yet.

Should I Bet the Under in the Guardians-Yankees Series?

(May 1, 2023) - Neither team is playing their best at the moment but that might be reason enough to focus in on the Under.  The Under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings.  The Under is 9-1-1 in Guardians last 11 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game, 9-1 in Guardians last 10 games following a loss - but more importantly - 10-2 in Guardians last 12 overall.  The Under is 14-2 in Yankees last 16 when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game, 15-3 in Yankees last 18 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and 8-2-1 in Yankees last 11 games vs. a right-handed starter.

New York Yankees career statistics vs. Cal Quantrill - They are just 10 for 51 (.192) starting on Monday.

Cleveland Guardians career statistics vs. Domingo German - 9 for 41 with zero home runs.

Blue Jays vs. Yankees Series

(April 21, 2023) - The Under in this series was 14-6 in the last 20 coming into Game 1.

New York was a -135 favorite with Domingo German starting on Friday.

Versus the Blue Jays, German is .213 (13 hits on 61 at bats) but has allowed 3 for 8 hits against Bo Bichette (.354), two of which were home runs.

New York Yankees career statistics vs. Yusei Kikuchi (2-0 with a 4.75 ERA) are 26 hits in 93 at bats. Aaron Judge has two homers against him but is just .200.

DJ LeMahieu was 7 for 19 with two doubles vs. Kikuchi.

Hot Trends:

  • Blue Jays are 7-2 in their last 9 vs. American League East.
  • Blue Jays are 21-8 in their last 29 road games vs. a right-handed starter.
  • Over is 12-4-2 in Blue Jays last 18 games following a loss.
  • Yankees are 13-4 in their last 17 vs. American League East.
  • Under is 5-1 in Yankees last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter.

Yankees are 16-3 in Last 19 Games vs. Twins

(April 15, 2023) - This one should be a hot series and the Yankees did have a definite edge over the Twins.  They had won 16 of the last 19 games in the series.   Only one of the Twins three wins over this time frame was on the road.  This series is being played in New York.  The Yankees were actually 40-11 in the last 51 games dating back to 2015 coming into this series.  The Twins had only won two consecutive games in the overall series twice over this span.  The Yankees opened as a -130 favorite in Game 1.

It was the Twins who came out on top in Game 2 however, and they go 10-4 on the season.  They beat New York badly on Thursday.

Twins batters were .269 versus Gerrit Cole, who is slated to start on Sunday. Byron Buxton has two home runs off him as well in four at bats.  This one actually looked like the game Minnesota could win.

The Yankees were 60-26 in their last 86 home games ahead of this series.

Yankees Current Edge Over Guardians is 68%

(April 9, 2023) - The New York Yankees have gone 17-8 against the Cleveland Guardians in the last 25.  They have gone 8-3 in the last 11.  That's better than a 72% win rate.  Therefore we are seeing an improvement in this edge.  The Yankees are also 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Cleveland.  New York should be especially attractive to gamblers this week and potentially the Under.

Six of the last seven games in this series have gone Under the posted total.  There was a 7.5 total posted for the first game of this series.  Six of the last seven have stayed Under that number.  13 of the previous 17 had gone Over that number, so do be careful when considering this total trend for Monday's game, perhaps less so for Tuesday.

The Yankees are 5-3, Guardians 5-4.

Cleveland batters are .233 against Yankees Domingo German with 33 at bats.  Yankees batters are .243 versus Shane Bieber in 70 at bats with Gleyber Torres solid against him at .556 (5 hits in 9 at bats).

Guardian batters have not had much luck against Gerrit Cole, who is slated to start on Tuesday.  They've gone .185 against him (28 hits in 151 at bats).  Josh Naylor has three home runs against him.

A few trends to consider:

  • Yankees are 0-8 in their last 8 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
  • Yankees are 7-19 in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Under is 15-5 in Yankees last 20 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
  • Under is 7-2-1 in Yankees last 10 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
  • Under is 20-8 in Yankees last 28 overall.
  • Under is 11-5 in Yankees last 16 games vs. a right-handed starter.
