Kliff Kingsbury, head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, pays $3 for every $2 bet if he's the next head coach in the NFL to get the axe.  Carolina's Matt Rhule was the odds-on favorite but he got canned following the Panthers Week 5 37-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Rhule was a 3-1 favorite at the outset of the season, and never moved outside of the Top 3 on the firing board.  He was the first NFL coach to be fired this season, finishing with a record of 11-27 with Carolina.

The Panthers have lost 11 of their last 12 games under Rhule.

"I had a conversation with coach this morning. It was short, cordial. He's a gentleman. A true gentleman," Panthers owner David Tepper said. "There's numerous reasons why you make a decision like that. Ultimately, I felt this was a time. Now was a time."

The 47-year-old Rhule was lured away from Baylor with a seven-year, guaranteed $62 million contract.

The Panthers traded away for Baker Mayfield but the former Cleveland Browns quarterback has ranked among the worst in the league so far this season completed 54.9% of his passes and is averaging fewer than 200 yards passing per game.

BetOnline updates the below list weekly, and now two names from the NFL’s West divisions sit atop the dreaded betting market.

After Kingsbury, Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett isn't too far behind on the odds list at 5-1.

The Washington Commanders Ron Rivera follows with 5-1 odds.
