Next Guardians Manager Stephen Vogt Odds

With the World Series about to get underway, BetOnline has released odds on who will be next to manage the Cleveland Guardians in 2024.

The Guardians are seeking a replacement for Terry Francona.

He opted to step away earlier in the month.

“I’m going to be OK not having that,” Francona said of leaving the world of Major League Baseball. “It’s been 40-something years of that. I’m ready to rest a little bit and let somebody else be in charge.”

Stephen Vogt comes in as the odds-on favorite at 3-2 to replace him followed by Sandy Alomar, Jr. at 4-1.  The next batch of options nearly double in the odds starting at 7-1 with DeMarlo Hale.

After being deemed "a serious candidate" for Cleveland's manager position, Seattle Mariners bullpen and quality control coach met with the Guardians organization for a second time on Tuesday.

Vogt was also a candidate for the San Francisco Giants manager position, but that's since been filled.

Alomar Jr. with the second shortest odds is a bit of a surprise considering it was reported just three weeks ago that he had declined to interview to be Cleveland Guardians manager.  He still wanted to remain with the organization.

Clayton McCullough reportedly just interviewed with the Guardians. The Los Angeles Dodgers' first base coach's name is notably absent from the odds.
