Next James Bond Favorite Changes Overnight: Callum Turner

Two weeks ago, Jack Lowden was the favorite to be cast as the next James Bond.

Today, there's a leading contender...Callum Turner.

A few things transpired this week that potentially led the favorite to flip at BetOnline Sports & Casino.

The first is that Turner resigned from his production company post, which fueled speculation that his focus will be entirely on the Bond role. The second, and perhaps a lesser sign, is that Pierce Brosnan and George Clooney both endorsed Turner for the part this week.

But in the end, it really all comes down to where the wagers are being placed. There has been a flood of money coming in on Turner during the past week, but another candidate has also seen steady support.

Angus Hamilton, who heads up entertainment oddsmaking at BetOnline had this to say:

“The Bond market has been on the move. Jack Barton has gone from a 20/1 longshot over the summer to 7/2 today. But the biggest swing belongs to Turner as sharp bettors hit him hard yesterday, going from 5/2 to a 4/5 favorite in a matter of hours. And Turner isn’t the only one in his household moving up our boards. Dua Lipa has overtaken Raye and Olivia Dean as the favorite to sing the next Bond theme."

On the Bond heroine side, Margaret Qualley and Anya Taylor-Joy remain the favorites while there's a three-way tie for third with Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya and Florence Pugh.

For the movie's villain, Idris Elba has gone from 4/1 to 5/2, now tied with Cillian Murphy at the top of the list below.
