Since 2002, the NFL has opened the season with the NFL Kickoff Game on a Thursday.
Since 2004, the NFL Kickoff Game has featured the Super Bowl winning team hosting the season opener.
The only exceptions were in 2013 when the Ravens had to play on the road due to an Orioles home game (Peter Angelos!) and in 2019 when the Patriots weren’t in it and instead it was the Packers and Bears celebrating the start of the 100th season.
Needless to say, it would be shocking if the Eagles aren’t hosting the NFL Kickoff Game come the Thursday after Labor Day.
The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have set lines on who the Birds will play in week 1 and the favorite is who many people thought they would be playing in the NFC Championship game.
