Browns vs. Steelers Betting Preview December 8

The Pittsburgh Steelers currently lead the pack in the AFC North, one game ahead of Baltimore.

They'll face the 3-9 Cleveland Browns whose quarterback Jameis Winston is seeking redemption in this game, literally.

"Praying for the Lord to deliver me from pick-sixes," Winston said after throwing two of them.

That moment went viral, for good and for bad.

The line on this game was a steady -7 Steelers.  Some books had the number at -6.5.

What's at Stake?

Pittsburgh (9-3) can get closer to locking up the division with a win. The Browns (3-9) can give their stretch run a jolt and sweep their rivals for the first time since 1988 if they can replicate those three spirited hours inside a snow globe that ended with a rare moment of joy.

“Since what year?” said Cleveland wide receiver Elijah Moore when asked about the 36-year drought. “Yeah, we got to change that. We got to break these chains.”

Line Analysis and Action

There is an underlay here as Pittsburgh comes in at 8.26 with Sagarin. That being said, underlays in the 6.5/7 range are a wash.

Action has come in between 60% and 70% Steelers.

Comparables

We would only consider games where the line sat on the 7 favoring the home team with some shifts to 6.5 and a small underlay.  Steady +6.5 for the road team also works. Trending in either direction (7 to 6.5 and vice versa) does not work here.

In the end, there is little that appeals to us with this game.  The best thing we see happening is Pittsburgh by 7 and a push.  We're certainly not backing the Browns.
