Under 500 Remain in Circa Sports Survivor Professional Football Contest
LAS VEGAS – For the first time all season, the most-picked team in Circa Survivor – the professional football contest by Circa Sports – survived. However, 25% of the field was eliminated, highlighted by New York’s loss to Denver.
The first three weeks of the season saw multiple top team upsets leaving 642 entries remaining in Circa Survivor going into week 4. This week, the most-picked team was San Francisco, drawing 277 or 43.1% of the selections. This is the first time the favorite cruised through the week as San Francisco beat New England, 30-13.
It wasn’t smooth sailing for everyone. The second-most picked team was New York against Denver at home. Last week Denver upset Tampa Bay, which eliminated 667 entries. In a repeat of their game against Tampa Bay, Denver’s defense looked great and smothered the New York offense. Despite that, New York led for most of the game off of field goals. Denver wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, scored the only touchdown of the game late in the third quarter. New York then re-took the lead, 9-7, early in the fourth quarter. However, Denver was able to march downfield, kick a field goal and went on to win 10-9. This eliminated 110 entries or 17.1% of the field.
Other teams that lost included Arizona (36 entries), Pittsburgh (8 entries), Cleveland (7 entries) and Buffalo (1 entry). At the end of the day 162 were eliminated, representing 25.2% of the field at the beginning of the week. This brought the total remaining down to 480 competing for the prize pool of $14,226,000.
