Odds on Who Will Be the Pittsburgh Steelers Starting Quarterback 2025 Week 1: Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph
BetOnline has released odds on who will start as quarterback in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steelers Week 1 Starting QB
Aaron Rodgers -120
Mason Rudolph +150
Will Howard +800
Skylar Thompson +1500
The 41-year-old Rodgers toured Pittsburgh’s facility in March and said last week that he remains in contact with the Steelers, but added that current circumstances in his personal life have taken precedence over whatever might be left of his career.
Rodgers was released by the New York Jets in March.
“I have a couple people in my inner circle that are battling some difficult stuff,” Rodgers said. “I have a lot of things that are taking my attention and have, beginning in January, away from football.”
Rodgers added that committing to a team is a “big thing” and indicated he will only do so when he’s ready to be all-in.
“I told every single one of the teams I talked to (that) it wasn’t about the money,” Rodgers said.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan expressed a willingness to have Rudolph join the team. He is currently a free agent who spent last season with the Titans after his previous NFL career was in Pittsburgh.
Rudolph, 29, appeared in eight games for Tennessee, completing 64% of his passes -- 146 of 228 -- for 1,530 yards, with nine touchdowns and interceptions each. Most of the season was spent as Will Levis' backup.
