Saquon Barkley to Be Named Super Bowl 2025 MVP Odds
Saquon Barkley would pay out $250 for every $100 bet should he be named the Super Bowl 2025 MVP. The Philadelphia Eagles star has certainly made a lot of noise during the regular season and that continued into the Playoffs, culminating in three touchdowns scored against the Washington Commanders.
Barkley rushed 15 times for 118 yards to go along with the three touchdowns in the Eagles’ NFC Championship Game victory over the Commanders. Remarkably, that 118 yards was about ten yards short of his posted total.
After the game, Barkley was asked in the team’s locker room if he envisioned having this kind of success right off the bat with the Eagles.
“Of course, that’s why I came here,” Barkley said. “That was one of the first conversations I had with [General Manager Howie Roseman]. That was the conversation I had with my family. I came to Philly to be a part of games like this. Nothing better than a game when you can advance to the Super Bowl, so I’m super excited about that.”
On September 6, 2024, Barkley made his jaw-dropping Eagles debut, rushing for 109 yards with two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown in a 34–29 victory versus the Green Bay Packers. He also became the first Eagles player to score three touchdowns in their debut with the team since Terrell Owens twenty years prior.
Running Back Super Bowl MVP Trends
One can argue that a running back is due to win the MVP this year, assuming the Eagles are crowned the 2025 Super Bowl champions and Barkley performs as he has been.
The last running back to be named MVP was Terrell Davis in 1998 playing for the Denver Broncos. Emmitt Smith won four years prior with the Dallas Cowboys.
