The Infographic below compiled by BetOnline.ag is based on X data from Sunday evening (after the Conference Championships) to now, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases from each fanbase about boycotting Super Bowl LIX. For example, any tweet that had a fan identifier such as #BillsMafia, #RavensFlock, #SteelersNation, etc. that also contained a phrase or hashtag such as "Boycott Super Bowl LIX, "Boycott the Super Bowl," "I'm boycotting the Super Bowl," #BoycottSuperBowlLIX, #BoycottTheSuperBowl, #SuperBowlBoycott, etc. Over 180,000 tweets were tracked.

So what is sparking this? It is mainly coming from fans upset that the Kansas City Chiefs are returning to the Super Bowl for the 5th time in 6 years, and those who are jumping on the narrative that the NFL is unfairly favoring them (including the referees) to ensure their success.

While this is a bit of a conspiracy theory, the fans cite a few explanations for this:

Patrick Mahomes is now the face of the league and the NFL wants to make sure its top star is successful.

Taylor Swift - Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce, and thereby attendance at the Super Bowl, will drive up ratings, giving the NFL incentive to make sure the Chiefs are in the big game.

Sports Betting somehow favors the Chiefs. Many fans are also claiming that Mahomes is now getting the "Michael Jordan" or "Tom Brady" treatment, in which it seems most calls go his way due to his superstar status.
