There are some things that stood out to me additionally about the Cup odds:

  1. Despite losing their last two and finishing fourth in the east and tenth overall in points, the Carolina Hurricanes are the favorites to win the Cup.
  2. Last week, the Stars were the favorites to win the Cup. Now, they are underdogs in their first round series yet still have the third best odds to win the Cup.
    1. They’ve also lost seven in a row headed into the playoffs which explains part of the odds.
  3. The number one seeds in each conference (Washington and Winnipeg) aren’t in the top five to win the Cup according to the odds.
