Florida Panthers a Dynasty? Oddsmakers Aren't Convinced of Threepeat in 2026
Matthew Tkachuk declared the Florida Panthers a "dynasty" following Tuesday night's second straight Stanley Cup win where they manhandled the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the series 5-1.
“This is a special team,” the Panthers forward Tkachuk proclaimed. “To win back-to-back championships and to be in the Finals three years in a row is something that doesn’t happen often. We’ve built something incredible here.”
Oddsmakers aren't entirely convinced Florida is the clear-cut favorite to make it three in a row.
"There's a lot more questions around the Panthers and Oilers than the Avalanche, who are set to return a majority of their roster and have the benefit of a longer offseason," Adrian Horton, trading director for ESPN BET, said. "Colorado should also enter next season healthy and fresh, while Florida and Edmonton have accumulated wear and tear from consecutive deep playoff runs."
BetOnline actually listed the Oilers as +600 favorites the morning after Florida's win. That's a half point better odds than the Panthers at +650. ESPNBet had both the Oilers and Panthers at +700 odds.
