5* UNLV

This is 10 pts more than opening week based on linemaker’s over adjustment for the Rebels 0-3 ATS start.  Yet this is clearly a spot in which WVU HC Stewart has refused to put down the hammer.  In a preseason article I queried whether Stewart would cave to internet death threats regarding his failure to cover as a fav.

The question has been answered with a resounding “NO”.  He appeared to be true to his values in “coasting” against Coastal in week 1, being life and death at Marshall in week 2,  and nearly allowing Maryland through the back door after leading 27-0 in week 3.

In all, the record stands 7-16 ATS fav and 0-7 ATS as -16+.  With RB Devine nursing a toe injury, and S. Fla just 5 days away, look for a Rebel team that has covered 2 straight to do no worse than come through the back door behind senior QB Clayton and a UNLV team that has responded in positive fashion to the discipline of new mentor HC Hauck.
