South Korean pop icon Rain (real name Jung Ji-Hoon) has been sued in the United States over an alleged US$150,000 gambling debt according to news reports Monday.

A Korean-American named Andrew Kim claims to have lent Rain the money to gamble with at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and Las Vegas but is yet to be paid.

According to court documents, Rain is a “habitual gambler”.

“They (Rain and Kim) stayed at the Bellagio. This is where Rain first revealed to Kim his heavy gambling habit. Kim was stunned to discover that Rain would repeatedly place bets upwards of $10,000."

Rain is best known for his squeaky clean image and his ability to overcome personal obstacles.

The allegations have been denied by Rain’s attorney.

The singer/actor/model was recently ordered to pay $2.4 million in punitive damages, $1 million for damages related to fraud, and $2.3 million for breach of contract following the cancellation of a Hawaii concert and failure to refund monies owed.

Rain has recorded seven albums over his career and got his start acting on the hit television series “Full House” (2004).  Jordan Bach reporting for Gambling911.com.
