This Monday Night Football betting preview for the Titans vs. Jaguars is courtesy of SBG Global, which is currently offering odds of -3 on Tennessee with a total of 45.

Game Time:  Monday, 8:30 pm Eastern – ESPN

A battle for first place takes place on Monday night as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans.  It is a four-way tie for first place in the AFC South so the winner of this NFL game will at least be tied for the division lead next week.

Tennessee is a 3-point favorite with a total of 45 at SBG Global.

The Jaguars have definitely been a surprise team this football season.  They upset the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 and then won last week 36-26 against Buffalo.

Quarterback David Garrard is playing very well.  He has completed 33-of-42 passes for 341 yards, five touchdowns and just one interception in the last two games.  The passing has taken the pressure off of running back Maurice Jones-Drew. The Jaguars have needed their offense to play well because their defense is rotten.  They have allowed 26 or more points in each of their last four games.

Tennessee has already beaten the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys so they are capable of winning against anyone. Last week they shocked the Cowboys and put up 34 points.  Chris Johnson had 131 yards and two touchdowns. He could have a big night on Monday against a poor Jacksonville defense.  Johnson had 228 yards in one of the games vs. the Jaguars last year. Quarterback Vince Young could also find success against one of the worst pass defenses in the league.

The Titans and Jaguars split their two games last NFL season with each team winning at home.  The Titans lead the all-time series 17-13. The Titans are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. the AFC South. The Titans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite.  The Jaguars are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the AFC South. The Jaguars are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Jaguars are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. The Jaguars are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Monday games. The Titans are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams but the home team in this series is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

The Under is 4-0 in the Titans last 4 vs. the AFC South. The Under is 4-1 in the Titans last 5 road games. The Over is 34-16-1 in the Titans last 51 games in October. The Under is 4-0 in the Jaguars last 4 Monday games. The Over is 5-1 in the Jaguars last 6 games overall.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
