Sunday Night Football: Vikings vs. Packers

The Sunday Night Football Vikings vs. Packers line has hovered between -2.5 and -3 in favor of Green Bay over this past week.  Betting action on this game was 60/40 in favor of the Packers as it relates to the spread.  70 percent of the money line betting was going towards Minnesota.  That payout would be $11.50 for every $10 bet. The 44.5 TOTAL was getting just shy of 70 percent for the OVER.

Last week, the Packers, original darlings to win the NFC North, lost to Miami and come into this game 3-3.  The Packers have been plagued by injuries. They entered this game without tight end Jermichael Finley, linebacker Clay Matthews and several other key players Sunday. Packers linebacker Brady Poppinga also sustained a knee injury during the game.

Quarterback Aaron Rogers missed some practice time coming into the game against Miami due to a concussion suffered the week prior.  He was 18 of 33 for 313 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

The Vikings, meanwhile, come into this game on a high note having knocked off Dallas at home last week.  Still, one has to wonder what toll the “off field” distractions involving Brett Favre’s “sexting scandal” might be having on this team.

Adrian Peterson rushed for 73 yards Sunday to go over 5,000 for his career. Peterson went over the 5,000-yard mark in just his 51st game, tying him with Jamal Lewis as the 5th fastest to reach the milestone.
