Brett Favre makes another return to Green Bay on Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings visit the Packers in a NFL game that can be seen on NBC.  Last year when Favre returned to face his old team, the Vikings won 38-26.  Neither the Vikings nor the Packers look as good as they did a year ago and both trail the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.

The Vikings got a big win last week against the Dallas Cowboys and now if they could win at Green Bay on Sunday they would be right back in the race for the division title.  The Packers are coming off two straight losses and no longer look like a Super Bowl contender. Green Bay has had some major injury problems and it has hurt them on both sides of the ball.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still having a good year but he misses tight end Jermichael Finley.  Defensively, the Packers have been up and down and they are still not at full strength although they are expected to get some players back this week.

Minnesota looked a little better last week in the win over Dallas but Favre is not the quarterback he once was.  He has thrown six touchdown passes and seven interceptions this season.  Minnesota had just 188 total yards of offense in last week’s win.  The Vikings could have more success this week against a Green Bay defense that couldn’t stop Miami last week.  Even though Favre has not played well this football season, he loves to go against his old team.  He had seven TD passes and no interceptions against Green Bay last season.

Green Bay leads the all-time series against the Vikings but it was Minnesota who won both games last year. The Vikings are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. the NFC North. The Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Vikings are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Green Bay.

The Packers are 17-8 ATS in their last 25 vs. the NFC North. The Packers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite.

The Over is 10-3 in the Vikings last 13 games as a road underdog. The Under is 5-1 in the Packers last 6 games overall. The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
