Cowboys vs. Giants Spread – Week 10

The Cowboys vs. Giants spread in Week 10 was indicative of the disparity between these two teams now.  With the turmoil in Dallas following head coach Wade Phillips firing, Dallas (1-7) was an unprecedented +13.5 underdog.  Some books had even longer odds for the Cowboys.  The betting public agreed wholeheartedly with this line as the spread was getting even action.  The OVER 46 was getting nearly 90 percent of the betting action.

The NFC East is still a tight division.  Even though the Giants (6-2) are being talked about as one of the best teams in the league right now, their lead over the Philadelphia Eagles is a mere one game.  The Washington Redskins are very much in the thick of things.

"We're going one game at a time," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said Monday. "The next game is our total concern, and that's as far as our thinking goes. It's right there."

There are injury concerns for New York as well.  Both David Diehl and Shaun O’Hara are likely to be out for Sunday’s game, making the Giants offense vulnerable.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, have given up 40.3 points a contest over the past three weeks.

"I told (players) they should not think this an admission of defeat or finality in this season," owner Jerry Jones said. "We have eight games left and we have one goal -- to win."

Jones replaced Phillips with Jason Garrett taking over for the time being.

"Wade is no longer the coach. I am the coach and what we're going to do going forward (is) get ready to have a great meeting, a great walkthrough and a great practice on Wednesday and give ourselves a chance to beat the Giants on Sunday," Garrett offered.

Now let’s look at some important Cowboys vs. Giants trends that should help bettors.

The Giants have won and covered the last three in this series.  They have only beaten the Cowboys once by the current spread over the last 10 games however.

The Cowboys are 12-3 Against The Spread in their last 15 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.

The Cowboys are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games in November.

Dallas is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 vs. NFC East.  They are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 vs. the NFC.  The Giants are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. the NFC.

Dallas is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as a road underdog.  The Giants are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.

The Cowboys are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. The Giants are 22-9 ATS in their last 31 games following a S.U. win.

Dallas is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

The Cowboys are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf.

The Giants are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game.

The Giants are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as a home favorite.

New York is just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
