This New York Jets vs. New England Patriots MNF betting preview is courtesy of SBG Global, where the line was 3.5 in favor of New England with a 44.5 total.  Game time is Monday, 8:35 pm EST on ESPN.

The two best teams in the NFL betting meet on Monday Night Football as the New England Patriots host the New York Jets.  The winner of this game will get their 10th win of the season and be in a strong position to win the AFC East and get home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  It doesn’t get much better than that for a regular season game.

The Jets are finding ways to win even though they do not have great numbers. The defense is not the league’s best this NFL betting season and the offense has been very inconsistent.  It hasn’t mattered though as the Jets simply have found ways to win.

New England has been simply unbeatable at home with Tom Brady as the starting quarterback. Brady has won 25 straight regular season games at home and with a win on Monday he would break the record he currently shares with Brett Favre.  Brady is having one of his best seasons even without a lot of big name weapons.  The Patriots have scored a total of 115 points in their last three games. New England leads the league in scoring at 30.4 points per game and Brady leads the league with a 105.8 passer rating.

This could be a high scoring game considering New England’s defense is nothing special. In the first meeting this season the Jets won 28-14 and New York quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 21 of 30 for 220 yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots defense is just 22nd in the league in scoring defense.

The Jets won the first meeting this season and New England has not lost twice to a team in the same season since 2001.  Here are other football betting stats for Monday’s game. The Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. the AFC East.

The Jets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog. The Jets are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Jets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Monday games. The Patriots are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Jets are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 meetings in New England.

The Over is 6-0 in the Jets last 6 road games. The Over is 8-2 in the Jets last 10 games overall. The Over is 6-2 in the Jets last 8 Monday games. The Over is 5-0 in the Patriots last 5 games overall. The Over is 5-1 in the Patriots last 6 home games.
