Saturday’s Navy vs. Army spread was coming in at Navy -7 to -7.5 depending on the Internet sportsbook.

Navy comes into this game with an 8-3 record while Army was just above .500 at 6-5.

For stats fans, the Navy vs. Army game will provide for an enticing betting opportunity.

Navy has covered 6 of the last 8 games in this series while winning all 8 outright.   They have also easily covered the current spread handily each of those 8 times.

All of this said, it’s not surprising that the online sportsbooks stand to lose significant amounts of money with a Navy win as more than 95 percent of those betting the spread are on Navy to cover at Sportsbook.com.  That online bookmaker is holding the line at -7.

Is there anything different that can happen which will lead to an Army cover?

The Black Knights are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games following a bye week.  They are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 conference games and Black Knights are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games in December.

The only trend really going against the Midshipmen is that they are 3-10 Against The Spread in their last 13 games as a favorite.

“I really want to say this one is like taking candy from a baby,” said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com, referring to Navy’s significant edge in this game.
