The game goes off Monday, 8:35 pm Eastern – ESPN

The Chicago Bears are likely going to be in position to clinch the NFC North on Monday night.  If Green Bay lost as expected to New England on Sunday then the Bears can clinch the division with a win.  The Bears will be favored to win but it is dangerous NFL game for Chicago against a Minnesota team that is playing spoiler.  The Vikings will be playing outside at the University of Minnesota’s stadium with the Metrodome damaged and the cold weather might provide another edge for Minnesota.

Bears are 8 point favorites at SBG Global.com and the total is 33.

Minnesota will likely be going with third-string quarterback Joe Webb in this contest.  Starting quarterback Brett Favre missed last week’s game against the New York Giants, ending his starting streak at 297 games and backup Tarvaris Jackson is out for the football season with an injury.  It looks like an easy win for Chicago but Minnesota players have said they don’t want Chicago clinching the division against them.

The Bears did not play well last week in a loss to New England so it will be interesting to see how they respond.  Head coach Lovie Smith and the team seems to have put that loss behind them.  The Bears beat the Vikings earlier this season in Chicago by a score of 27-13.  It could be a low scoring game on Monday night considering the Bears do not have an explosive offense and given the fact that the Vikings are starting a third-string quarterback.

Here are the football betting stats for Monday’s game. The Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games. The Bears are 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games in December. The Bears are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Minnesota.

The Vikings are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Monday games. The Vikings are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games in December. The Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. the NFC North. The home team is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings between the two teams.

The Under is 4-1 in the Bears last 5 road games. The Over is 5-1 in the Vikings last 6 Monday games but the Under is 4-1 in the Vikings last 5 games overall and the Under is 6-2 in the Vikings last 8 games in December.
