As widely reported here on Gambling911.com last month, World Series of Poker bracelet record holder Phil Hellmuth was anticipated to leave UB.com by year’s end once his contract had expired.  Hellmuth had been a long time representative for the company.  Sources close to Gambling911.com advised he would be accepting a deal elsewhere.

Hellmuth finally confirmed his decision in a Twitter post early Friday morning after nearly two months of speculation.

Making a BIG move...leaving UB. Truly lots of great memories, but it's time to move on...Mutual decision...Looking forward to BRIGHT future!

Prior to Hellmuth’s announcement, Annie Duke had posted on her Twitter page that she too would be leaving the 3rd largest US-facing online poker brand.

Starting new chapter in my life. Decided to leave UB, but the future’s exciting for me and the place I’ve called home for more than a decade

The rumors of Duke’s departure, while out there, seemed less likely to be confirmed until today.

UB.com is reportedly looking to feature a wide variety of “new blood” representatives that are still capable of generating brand awareness.  One of the company’s newest signings is Maria Ho, a contestant on the hit CBS reality series, The Amazing Race.

As of Friday morning, both Hellmuth and Duke’s photos were removed from the UB.com website.  That site also noted that the decision was mutual on all sides.

“I have nothing but positive things to say about UB and my experiences with the brand, management, and the incredible people who work hard daily to deliver a terrific online poker experience,” Duke said in a statement.

Hellmuth was widely expected to join PokerStars for an undisclosed amount of money.
