Noted online poker player Prahlad Friedman has joined North America’s third largest online poker room, UB.com.  As Gambling911.com has been reporting over these last couple of days, fellow poker player Daniel Negreanu has attacked Friedman for the rumored decision.  Negreanu has since admitted that his animosity towards the company mostly stems from dealings he had with UB.com executives during the card room’s earlier days, investment dealings which eventually fell through.  To make matters worse, Negreanu works for a competing brand.

Friedman is highly regarded as one of the world’s greatest cash game players, online and off, with millions in winnings earned since 1999.

“One word to describe Prahlad Friedman joining UB.com? Epic,” stated fellow Team UB pro Joe Sebok. “We’ve netted one of the biggest cash game players of all time, an achievement that really speaks to the strength and attractiveness of UB heading into 2011.”

While renowned for his cash game performances for which he has earned millions, Friedman is equally impressive in online poker and land-based tournaments. At the 2003 World Series of Poker, Friedman won a WSOP bracelet in a $1,500 Pot Limit Hold’em event and earned $109,400 for his first place finish. At the 2006 WSOP, Friedman finished in 20th place of the Main Event, earning $494,797 for outlasting over 8,700 poker players. Most recently, in 2009, Prahlad won the WPT Legends of Poker event to claim over $1 million.

In addition to his championship performances at the poker tables, Prahlad Friedman is just as famous for his performances in front of the microphone. A simple YouTube search yields dozens of clips of Friedman’s raps, which have been featured on ESPN and in various poker related media.

Friedman’s signing comes as a big surprise to many in the online poker industry because of his strong history of turning down sponsorship deals from the major players.

“UB is headed in a new direction, and I really like the team they've put together,” stated Prahlad Friedman. “Everyone on the team has interests away from poker. They're young, hip, cool--people I enjoy hanging with and whose games I respect.”

With the addition of Prahlad Friedman to Team UB, the online poker site’s roster of young, talented poker professionals is now stronger and louder. Other notable pros include Joe Sebok, Brandon Cantu, Eric Baldwin, Adam “Roothlus” Levy, Bryan Devonshire, Scott Ian, Maria Ho, and several other successful poker champions.

UB.com is a long standing sponsor of the Gambling911.com website.

“We’re thrilled by this news and that vegan who finds it necessary to call women ‘f*cking c***s, Taliban Dan Negreanu, can go shove it,” said an elated Jagajeet Chiba of Gambling911.com.  “Yes Daniel, other people want to make some dough like you representing online poker rooms too.”
