A former University of Toledo football player has pleaded guilty in a point-shaving case and faces up to two years in prison.  He entered his plea Thursday in Detroit federal court to conspiring to influence sporting events.  The games in question were played between 2004 and 2006.

Adam Cuomo admitted to regularly speaking with a local gambler about point-spreads on upcoming UT football games.

Eight other individuals were indicted in connection with this case including six players and two local businessmen who placed the bets.

The Hagersville, Ontario, resident says he would receive $500 if the gambler who placed the bets won.
