Jason Mercier is on a tear. After winning the title at the EPT San Remo and with the shine still on the trophy from that event, he proceeded to run through another field to win the Poker Stars High Rollers event in London. Not to be outdone, John Juanda almost took down his second crown in just a week. John was the winner of the recent WSOPE Main Event and came within one hand of winning this event as well.

Jason Mercier will be getting a fair amount of press in the coming weeks. With two major wins in such as short period of time, his win is truly remarkable. There's simply no way to chalk this one up to luck as the field of 85 players at the High Rollers event was chock-full of world class players. Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman, and essentially the entire Full Tilt Poker team was there as well. Luck only runs for so long and it certainly won't guide you through a battlefield (twice).

It will be interesting to see if Jason decides to play the Poker Stars Asia Pacific Poker Tour on October 9th, which kicks off at Aucklands SKYCITY Casino. Already committed to this event are big players like Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer, and Chris Moneymaker. If this young player is able to three-peat it would truly be the most remarkable run of the year in poker.
