The successful United Kingdom based Gutshot Poker has announced that it will be migrating from the Microgaming Network to relative new comer, The Cake Poker network. The move has been completed as of October 8th 2008. Gutshot Poker was formed in 2001 by a group of online poker players from the United Kingdom. They teamed up with the Microgaming network in 2007 but that relationship has been relatively short lived. There is little comment currently available as to whether or not there were issues between Gutshot and Microgaming or if the departure was simply the better way to go for Gutshot. The only indication regarding the situation was the following statement found on Gutshot's website:

"In respect of the Microgaming situation, we are not in a position to make any real comment other than the room is now closed and all player balances have been transferred to Cake."

Gutshot Poker had established themselves as a strong and respectable poker site over the past few years by heavily recruiting in The United Kingdom, Scandinavia and mainland Europe.

Cake Poker is a relatively new poker network that has done exceptionally well since their introduction. The network accepts American business and even has the unique distinction of accepting most American based credit cards, something nearly unheard of in the industry today. With their growing platform and player base Cake has been attracting other network sites at quite the rate. Bet US Poker, Players Only Poker and King Midas Poker are just a few that have recently made the switch to the popular and growing Cake Poker Network. The Microgaming network has gone through a series of changes over the last year with many sites migrating away from the platform and Microgaming severing ties with several skins as well.
