We gotta say it was quite amusing to see that NFL.com picked up a news story related to betting on the 2011 NFL Combine, which featured odds on Player to Record Most Bench Presses to Player to Record the Fastest 40 Yard Dash and much more.   The 2011 NFL Combine is currently being held February 23 – March 1, 2011 with odds still available at Sportsbook.com

The article in question featured nearly all the odds (we won’t do that here).  It was picked up by NFL.com, which has long opposed gambling in any form, especially as it applies to football games.  Google News then picked up the article and – joila!  It’s no longer available.

The article featured the anti-gambling headline of “Got a Gambling Problem?  The NFL Combine is Here to Help!”

On Wednesday, the National Football League forced some of its players to back out of an upcoming charity poker tournament that would benefit the hearing impaired in impoverished nations of Africa.
