NFL Power Rankings

Carrie Stroup here! Gambling911.com has released its 2008 Week 7 NFL Power Rankings along with odds for each of the top teams and changes from last week courtesy of Sportsbook.com, which was offering future betting odds on teams chances to win the 2009 Super Bowl. The number in (parentheses) is last week's ranking.

1. (2) Tennessee Titans - We reported following the Giants loss Monday that the Tennessee Titans have moved into the number one spot of the Gambling911.com Week 7 NFL Power Rankings, and with good reason. Despite not even lifting a finger this past weekend, the only undefeated team left has proven they are a defensive force. Couple that with the veteran leadership of Kerry Collins and we have one of the biggest surprises of the 2008/2009 NFL season. The Titans still offer remarkable value considering they should continue their undefeated streak after a game in Kansas City next week. They would pay $800 for every $100 bet if they were to win the 2009 Super Bowl at Sportsbook.com.

2. (1) New York Giants - The Giants may have lost to the Cleveland Browns Monday night, but that doesn't automatically make them a "bad" team now. The reigning 2008 Super Bowl champions should be able to bounce back. Great value still with a Giants Super Bowl win paying $600 on every $100 bet.

3. (3) Washington Redskins - Sure they lost to the lowly (but desperate) St. Louis Rams - at home no less. But the Skins are on a learning curve. That was the type of team you look past and it cost them. We're not convinced that Washington is anywhere near out of the Playoff hunt. A Redskins Super Bowl win would pay $1000 for every $100 bet at Sportsbook.com.

4. (6) Pittsburgh Steelers - At 4-1, the Steelers continue to slowly inch their way back up the rankings. For once, Pittsburgh is pretty much off the radar, and that's not a bad position to be in. They would pay $1200 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

5. (4) Dallas Cowboys - The Cowboys are still the favorites to win the 2009 Super Bowl, paying $300 for every $100 bet. You may be able to get them at better value by waiting a bit, especially if the Titans pull off a win against St. Louis this coming week and the Giants also win. Plus there is that little pinkie finger injury which will keep quarterback Tony Romo out for perhaps a full month.

6. (9) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Give it up for the Bucs who beat Carolina decisively and forced that team down the rankings a bit. Tampa Bay would pay out $2500 for every $100 bet if they were to win the 2009 Super Bowl. These odds need to be locked in now though. We have a feeling they are going to be slashed a whole lot further considering this has become one of the toughest divisions now and Tampa Bay continues to excel.

7. (7) Buffalo Bills - They didn't play last weekend and, with all the upsets, the Bills haven't lost any ground in our rankings. They would pay $2000 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

8. (5) Carolina Panthers - The Panthers get downgraded this week, and with good reason after a bad loss to the Bucs. Still, this is a good team that we think will maintain its hold onto the Top 10 next week. Oddsmakers have given them a +2000 (20/1) shot of winning the Super Bowl.

9. (13) Indianapolis Colts - It's possible that the Colts will find their way into the Top 5 over the course of the next few weeks. They looked like the Colts we remember from the past decade, not that other Indianapolis team that played the first few weeks. Then again, Peyton Manning's secret surgery during the summer probably hasn't helped matters. At Sportsbook.com, the Colts pay $1000 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl and this is likely going to be the best payout odds you're getting the rest of the season on Indianapolis, so best to lock in these odds now.

10. (12) San Diego Chargers - Move back into the Top 10 after a solid win against the New England Patriots this past weekend. Still a darling of the odds makers and paying $800 for every $100 bet if they win the 2009 Super Bowl.

11. (8) Chicago Bears

12. (18) New York Jets

13. (11) Denver Broncos

14. (17) Jacksonville Jaguars

15. (15) Philadelphia Eagles

16. (19) Arizona Cardinals

17. (20) Atlanta Falcons

18. (16) Miami Dolphins

19. (10) New England Patriots

20. (14) Baltimore Ravens

21. (23) New Orleans Saints

22. (22) Minnesota Vikings

23. (21) Green Bay Packers

24. (26) Cleveland Browns

25. (21) Green Bay Packers

26. (27) Houston Texans

27. (25) Seattle Seahawks

28. (29) Oakland Raiders

29. (30) Kansas City Chiefs

30. (28) Cincinnati Bengals

31. (32) St. Louis Rams

32. (31) Detroit Lions
