The indignities just keep coming for Tiger Woods. After dropping three spots down the World Golf Rankings, from second to fifth, the former No. 1 golfer in the world is now not favored to win a tournament.

Considering Woods’ last win was in 2009, it’s not surprising. And maybe it will motivate him to finally get a victory when the best golfers in the world gather this week for the second World Golf Championships event of the year, the Cadillac Championship at the Blue Monster at Doral.

For the first time in ages, Woods’ name is not atop the favorites in Golf Odds at betED.com.

World No. 1 Martin Kaymer of Germany is the favorite at +900, with Woods at +1000. World No. 4 Graeme McDowell is also at +1000, and 6th-ranked Phil Mickelson is at +1400.

The field this week is the strongest of any tournament so far this season, with every one of the world’s top 50 players included in the 69-player field, and 60 of the top 65. Eight of the nine PGA Tour winners from this season will be on hand, as well as all the winners of this event since 2002. Woods has won five of those titles, and has won this event a total of six times in his career.

World No. 12 Ernie Els is the defending champion. The South African beat Charl Schwartzel by four shots last year to pick up his 17th PGA Tour victory and second win at the tournament.

Woods holds the scoring records at this event for 36, 54 and 72 holes, which he set when the event was held in England. This is the fifth-straight year the tournament will be held at Doral. Play starts Thursday and Friday at 2 pm ET on the Golf Channel, then switches to NBC on the weekend.
