March Madness 2011 betting odds were now available for Gonzaga vs. St. John’s, Richmond vs. Vanderbilt, Morehead State vs. Louisville and Wofford vs. BYU. Vanderbilt was coming in as a mere -1 favorite against Richmond despite being a number 5 seed vs. Richmond as a number 12 seed. Gambling911.com advised prior to the official posted line to bet on Richmond as the better team in this contest. We expected the oddsmakers might place a pretty heavy line on this game favoring Vanderbilt, but that didn’t happen.
St. John’s we felt would open at -5. Instead, they open at -2.
We anticipated BYU to open as a -14 favorite but warned that the spread would likely be reduced due to Brandon Davies not playing. They’ve gone 3-2 without him. It’s no surprise the oddsmakers at betED.com have slashed the line in half from where we anticipated it to open.
